Bedtime is a time when everyone winds down and gets ready for their nightly slumber. Well, not here. At our house, bedtime is the time when everyone thinks of a hundred things to do so they can get out of the inevitable for as long as possible. Take tonight, for instance. Cole was able to postpone his bedtime until 11:00PM. First, he wanted to sleep in Aly's room with his cat, fine, it's only 8:15, so we get the sheets on the bed and his blankets and he's ready to go. Now he wants to play with the cat when I'm telling him to go to the bathroom. Finally he complies. Back up to bed with a "Goodnight, I love you." (I was feeling good because I had him say his prayers earlier so when we got to this point, he'd just lay down and go to sleep.) What? Sleep you say? We forgot to get the drink of water... Well, to make a long story short, a jumped baby gate and an emergency room visit (not to mention how much money???) later, he's sound asleep all snuggled up in bed.
PS: The permanent cast will go on in 3 days.
